Meet The Team – Brenda Nelson

Welcome everyone!  Over the last several months we have added some new, very talented stampers to our team and we thought it would be fun to give everyone (old and new alike) the opportunity to let you know a little bit about them themselves.  Here’s another member of our Design Team who does the Saturday Blog Hops with us.

INTRODUCING – BRENDA NELSON

Brenda

Hello Everyone!

My name is Brenda Nelson and I began my stamping journey almost 15 years ago! It is true what they say that time flies while you are having fun. I think one of the reasons that I have stayed an active demonstrator all these years is that I consistently set new goals for myself to achieve. My most recent accomplishment was one that I had truly dreamed of for a number of years before I finally had the courage to put the wheels in motion to achieve it, and that was being selected to the Artisan Design Team for Stampin’ Up!.  One of the requirements that I had to meet to even apply was to have a blog.  Now it might not seem like a big deal to many of you who have had blogs for a long time, but it was something that was so out of my comfort zone. Technology, when it doesn’t work, seriously makes me sweat! So it was something I was avoiding.  However, I was lucky enough to get some amazing encouragement from a colleague who helped bring my blog vision to life. Once I started posting and getting my confidence I looked to get involved in some blog hops and I was lucky enough to be invited by Connie and Mary themselves! I have to admit I was pretty flattered as I had admired and followed their Create with Connie and Mary Hop for quite a number of years!

I love to create! My first passion is scrapbooking and I am lucky that I have a number of monthly classes that allow me to incorporate that into my business. I look at a scrapbook page as just a bigger card as I use many of the same strategies and techniques for designing cards as putting together a page layout.

My favourite thing as I write this is the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. It really just has endless possibilities.  This card I created has such a reusable design function to it and it incorporates a little bit of everything I love. Background stamping, Designer Series paper, a layered feature area and of course a great stamp.  And there is room to add in Baker’s Twine (one of my favourite things of all time) with a cute little embellishment. It really checks all the boxes!
